Lupus is a non-contiguous but chronic autoimmune disease that results to acute and chronic inflammation; and damage of any part of the system including vital organs of the body. What is lupus?

Types of lupus

  • Skin manifestations: Can cause scarring which most times result to permanent hair thinning or loss (alopecia).
  • Arthritis: Lupus commonly causes swelling, pain, stiffness and even deformity of the small joints of the hands, feet and wrists.
